The Protection, Promotion, Development and Management of Indigenous Knowledge Bill is one step away from being enacted. The National Assembly approved it on 13 September 2018, and has now only to be signed into law by the President. The Bill seeks to provide legal protection for indigenous knowledge (IK); that is knowledge generated and owned by communities.
